Our baby girl turned one on July 8th. There were some days in the beginning (and the middle) when I had my doubts. I am certain that my parents, my husband, and all of their prayers made all of the difference. Sophia is true blessing in my life and I love her more than I could ever have imagined.
So what has changed? Lots!
No longer is Sophia content to lay on her back and look around. In fact, she hates to be on her back now. She's much happier scooting and cruising around.
Her vocabulary has grown from "da da da" with the addition of "ma ma ma," "at" (Sophia language means "cat"), "oug" (for "dog"), "bahl" (ball), and many assorted sounds associated with pointing and seeing animals.
Another milestone...Sophia is being transitioned into the toddler room at school. This has been a bit of a challenge as she has developed a particularly close bond with her teachers, especial Ms. Jennifer. Ms. Jennifer has no grandchildren of her own so Soph has become somewhat of a grandchild to her.
Soph has also increased her array of foods and is weaning from the bottle and formula to milk in a cup. She loves milk which makes our lives much easier! She'll pretty much eat anything (depending on her mood)...she didn't get that trait from her daddy (Mr. Chicken nugget man). She loves peas, oranges, pancakes, sweet potatoes and pretty much anything with cheese on it (that's my girl).
So, to celebrate the one year milestone (both for Sophia and the rest of us!) we had a party at Aunt Teresa and Uncle Greg's. Sophia enjoyed her apple & cinnamon cake but wasn't quite sure about everyone starring at her and taking pictures...she better get used to that! Her daddy and I got her a Radio Flyer wagon and she absolutely loves it. Papaw and Gammy are going to enter her wagon picture in a contest to get published in the paper (they are quite proud of their little Soph).
